Wildflowers Learning to Grow won an honorable mention (it was in the top 10 of over 100 pieces of art) at the Hoffman United Methodist Church's art show this past weekend. I attended Saturday and was happy to catch up many familiar faces and see, for the first time, the beautiful frames my dad made for Jay Road Barn and Mr. Buffalo. The frames are amazing and have a great stories. The wood was salvaged from old barns so my dad spent some time planning the best cuts to make the frames. Nails are left in portions of the distressed wood and, for the red frame, he pulled out several tacks from where the farmer had kept notes from long ago. They turned out beautifully and really complement the paintings.
